I have to admit. I watch HGTV with my wife and sometimes I watch it when she’s not home. Being a guy doesn’t mean I just watch ESPN and “Dirty Jobs or the “Deadliest Catch” on the Discovery Channel. Now of course I got started with HGTV because of Judy since she watches for all the ideas that she can incorporate into our home.
One of my favorite shows on HGTV is “Divine Design”. It’s a show with this very tall designer named Candace Olson and she comes in with her team and they completely transform the room into something fabulous. I generally love her taste and they never seem to have a budget so whatever room she does is always state-of-the-art. It’s kind of like “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” on a smaller scale.
If you know where I’m going with this our heavenly Father gives you and me divine appointments on a regular basis. He gave me one last week when I did a service call for a friend I hadn’t seen a while and she wasn’t supposed to be home when I did the call. She was going to leave a key under the mat for me. It turns out her daughter got sick that day and she had to be picked up from school and so we all arrived at the home at the same time.
It turns out I got her a/c fixed and then we proceeded to have a talk that I know was a gift from God. I know it was exactly what I needed to hear and hopefully it was for her. As I mentioned in my last post, when you’re going through struggles in your life God always seems to put people in your life that you need for that moment. It’s his divine plan.
My favorite scripture reference to this comes from the Old Testament in the book of Esther. Esther was a Jewish queen who had just come into that position and she had an opportunity to save the Jews from persecution. Her cousin Mordecai told her so. “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14 NKJV
My favorite part of the verse is “such a time as this.” If we are doing what God wants us to do at the time He wants us to do it then we need to be ready for divine appointments. God will put people in our lives for us to minister to and for us to be ministered by. When I’m praying with someone I often find myself saying over and over, “for such a time as this, for such a time as this.”
I have tried to take out of my vocabulary two words, lucky and coincidence. Like I mentioned earlier, if you’re tracking with the Lord then He wants to work on your behalf. I have exchange these words for something else. I call it a “God thing.” Since God uses people to carry out His will why would I think a blessing that comes into my life is just “a lucky break” or the fact I run into a friend at Starbucks just “a coincidence.” It’s because it’s not. But when you’re blessed by a divine intervention then consider it an opportunity to give praise to the Lord. Don’t forget to send up a quick “thank you Jesus”.
I have to go now. The front door is knocking and maybe it’s Candace. I could use a new kitchen.
Wouldn’t that be divine?

It sounds like you're creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place.
